dual logo & brand design

Hudson at Haymount House

Hudson at Haymount house is a dual branding concept for a restaurant and restaurant group in a prewar mansion, located upstate

New York. Hudson is a farm to table concept, purveying local farms for produce and fine meats. Haymount House serves as the umbrella brand to Hudson, organizing the large events, weddings, and private parties.

The dual brand concept was to bring a modern edge to the classic architectural setting of the mansion. The location of Hudson at Haymount House is of great historical value and tradition.  Gone With the Wind, the American classic film from the 1930's was filmed at this iconic place.  The re-branding effort was to modernize the restaurant and restaurant group, and with hold the heritiage of the architecture. The logo is a mix of typefaces that blends serif and sans serifs fonts with a traditional script.  The modernization of the brand includes a play on the typeface with breaking the lines of the serif type.  The icon is taken from the pillars of the mansion, breaking the lines further and creating a negative space for a contrast and pop color.
